Running Week That Was…..
Parkrun is now getting popular with TCRC members. This weekend saw Lytham Parkrun take centre stage and TCRC was well represented. A cold wet morning saw Roy Tomlinson have a great run and completed the winding 5K course in 21.23. Phil Hayes who is now into marathon training ran a great 23.20, then a further 6 mile home and was joined by Steve Burgess, who is coming back into form following an injury and ran a great 26.47. Lytham saw the return of Michelle Tomlinson, who had a great run in 32.24! Christine Burgess, who is excelling at the park run event, ran a great 32.24. Christine was joined by Kirsty Waywell, who is also marathon training, proceeded to run a further 10 miles home! Karen Livesey had a fabulous run in 36.46!

Garstang 10K was no problem for Daisy Seville, who ran a fabulous 46.10 on the wet undulating course! Daisy was joined at Garstang by Andy Whitlam, who ran a great time of 56.39. Angela Norris was very pleased with her 1.00.38! Well done team TCRC!

How often do they meet and what is discussed?
- The TCRC Committee meets every 6 weeks, or sooner if to prepare for an event on the TCRC Calendar.
- All committee meetings are noted and these are sent out to all members the week after the meeting.
- All aspects of the club are discussed which include, club finances, club events, club membership, club championship and any other item that has been brought to the attention of the committee
How can I get involved?
- New sub groups are being created, which will allow people to assist in organising events, without having the responsibility of sitting on the committee:
New Groups being created:
- Thunder Run Group
- Beginners Group
These are our initial groups and further groups will be set up for other events! Get involved!
- If you have an idea for an event, or something that you feel would help grow/promote the club, or just to inspire your fellow club members, please bring this to the committee and it can be discussed and brought to life!
Club Championship
A full list of the Club Championship races will be sent out and added to the website this week.
This year we have changed how the championship works. We have removed the 3 short, 3 medium and 2 long events and replaced it with 8 races, of your own choosing, from the full list of events. Roy Tomlinson has created a great club championship for this year, with the inclusion of Parkrun, Interclub runs and new races. Please make sure you read the information that will be sent out and if you have any queries, please make sure you speak to either Roy or another Committee member. We have seen a low number of people qualify for last year’s championship and feel that this new change will enable all abilities to qualify and have fun doing it!
Club Championship tables will be included in future reports, so you will be able to see how you are progressing!
