The men’s winner was Mark Pryor who consistently improves with another 33.05 PB closely followed by David Jones 28.44 also with a PB.

Other Personal best’s on the night were Janine Denney 31.41, Bev Foster 32.11, Kirsty Whyatt 31.46, Joe Tyldesley 25.42, Andy Whitlam 29.59, Jeanette Ball 39.32, Joanne Ball 39.31 and Johanne Lickiss 33.07.

Glorious sunshine greeted the runners at the 50th Freckleton Half Marathon. Thornton’s Terry Poole enjoyed the blistering heat finishing in 1.41.35. Janine McNeill excelled in the conditions coming home in 2.05.11. Julie Sherwood was disappointed but still finished in 2.14.23. Mike Walsh once again showed that age is no barrier finishing first male vet 80 in 2.22.04. Hilary Goorney had a consistent run in 2.29.33.

David Jones was TCRC’s sole representative in the Elletson Arms 10k in Pillingand was pleased with a 56.07 finishing time.

Eight members competed in the Preston Park run 5k. Andy Fairbairn 19.17 came in ahead of Roy Tomlinson 21.39 and Sarah Scott 27.38. Jackie Routledge was overjoyed with her 29.22 PB. Janine Denney continues to improve with each race and ran 30.02 with Sandra Gilchrist hot on her heels in 30.08. Lisa Young 36.44 and Sharon Randall 37.22 were both pleased to finish after recent injuries.

Aggies’s Staircase Fell race at Darwen was the latest race in the championship and just four
TCRC ladies competed. Unfortunately no men took up the challenge probably due to the clash with England’s exploits in the world cup. Once again Julie Sherwood showed her love of the hills and off road terrain to finish in an excellent 50.12 ahead of another lover of the fells, Helen Jolly 58.13. Jackie Routledge 62.40 and Johanne Lickiss 62.41 both enjoyed the off road evening run coming in together.
